WSJ: Monte dei Paschi lifts guidance, Alstom cuts outlook, Bombardier raises cash flow view

· 3 sources

WSJ reports Monte dei Paschi raised profit guidance, Alstom cut its outlook after technical issues, and Bombardier lifted its 2026 free cash flow outlook.

What happened

The Wall Street Journal reported three separate corporate updates on guidance. Monte dei Paschi raised its profit guidance, Alstom cut its guidance, and Bombardier raised its outlook for free cash flow in 2026.

According to the WSJ, the Monte dei Paschi update came as Intesa prepares to launch a takeover bid. The WSJ also reports that Alstom shares fell sharply after technical issues led the company to reduce its guidance.

For Bombardier, the WSJ says the higher free cash flow outlook for 2026 came while its profit slipped. The sources provided do not give further figures.

Context

Companies update their guidance when their expected results change, and these revisions are closely watched by investors.

Why it matters

Guidance changes at a bank, a rail equipment maker and an aircraft maker may shape how markets view each company's near-term results.
