Financial firms weigh crypto-agility for post-quantum migration
Published November 4, 2026 · Updated November 4, 2026 · 3 sources
A guest post says financial institutions should inventory cryptography ahead of post-quantum migration; a headline asks if Equinix infrastructure is ready.

What happened
A guest post on The Quantum Insider argues that financial institutions need crypto-agility, built on cryptographic inventories, to prepare for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) [1]. A separate headline asks whether Equinix infrastructure is ready to adapt when quantum computing arrives [2].
The guest post, written by Andrew Gault, CEO of ZeroTier, says the financial services industry depends on cryptography to move money, protect customer and transaction data, verify digital identities and connect with third parties. It says a sufficiently capable cryptographically relevant quantum computer could break much of the public-key cryptography behind those functions [1].
The author also describes a practice known as "harvest now, decrypt later", in which adversaries collect encrypted data today and attempt to decrypt it later [1].
The post says NIST finalized its first post-quantum cryptography standards in 2024, that White House Executive Order 14412 in June 2026 directs federal information systems to move to NIST-approved standards, and that the U.S. Treasury announced a Quantum-Readiness Task Force in August 2026 [1].
A MarketScreener item is titled "Equinix: Is Your Infrastructure Ready to Adapt When Quantum Computing Arrives". Only the headline is available, so nothing further is attributed to it [2].
What ATLAS data show
ATLAS model estimates put Equinix fair value at $612.48 (range $520.61 to $704.36), with the price 65.62% above that value. For Visa the estimate is $143.49 (range $129.14 to $157.84), with the price 198.27% above it. For Mastercard it is $238.68 (range $214.81 to $262.54), 171.15% above. For JPMorgan it is $325.53 (range $292.97 to $358.08), with the price 3.83% above. These are model estimates, not promises, and are not advice.
Two closes moving or not moving on the same dates does not show that one caused the other. The S&P 500 rose 1.60% between the same closes. Figures come from closing prices and may change.
What you get with ATLAS
Fair value of each company, with its range, against today's price.
Chance of a rise in 1 month and the normal price range, from a calibrated model.
Earnings: next date, estimated EPS and surprise history.
Dividends and alerts by email when a company reports.
The guest post uses it for the ability of financial institutions to adapt their cryptography, supported by cryptographic inventories and protection of critical data during PQC migration [1].
What does the source say about Equinix?
Only a headline is available. It asks whether your infrastructure is ready to adapt when quantum computing arrives [2].
What is harvest now, decrypt later?
It is a practice in which adversaries collect encrypted financial and personal data today and try to decrypt it later [1].
